due to the poor start to the 2007 racing season in the limited late model class, kj motorsports had decided to run the late model class at illiana. it was a last minute decision for the crew to set the car up in one day. FOR josh and the team, IT was just another day at the track. this time it was going to be just racing for fun. Josh said, "how can I race if I am not having fun, WHEN 2 of the 3 nights of racing I was involved in someone  ELSE'S accident". in practice the team made a couple of changes on the car and had the 2nd fastest time. in qualifying josh ran a 20.229 good for 6th out of 11 cars. IN the heat race josh started on the pole, and as the race started josh fell back in the field and ended up in last place (8th only 2 seconds behind the leader). the feature had josh 2nd row outside. with the motor that josh has in his car, it took a couple of laps to get up to full speed. josh fell back to 7th, and when he did, HE radioed back to butch and said "the car is running great". after he said that josh started to catch up to cars that were in front of him. josh finished in 6th place. as josh came back into the pits, HE said "this was a feature win for the whole kj motorsports team and now I am having fun again", with a big smile on his face. everyone there had not seen a smile on his face since the 04 & 05 mid-am championship seasons.

with a strong run last week, kj motorsports was was excited about how the car ran and was ready for to continue were they left off. this week had 16 cars at the track. josh qualified 4th with a 20.437. josh started 2nd row outside. as the race started josh was running in 4th place and with 1 lap left in the race, 2 cars in front of him came together and started to spin. josh had to hit the brakes pretty had to avoid hitting them, and when he did his car turned to the right into the outside wall in turn 2. the spotter asked josh if he was ok, and came back over the radio and said I am a little sore but i will be fine. then he said thank god for the Hans device that i am wearing. the tow truck brought back the car to the pits and from the fist look of the car it looked like josh and the crew was finished for the night. the crew started to pull the fenders and the bumper off and saw that the suspension was ok and it was the tubing that holds front bumper in place. Kevin McCann came over (#54) to see if the crew needed anything, and josh said do you have a front bumper bar ? Kevin said I have one. with not a lot of time till the feature the crew did their  best to get the car ready. the crew only had time to get the font bumper bar on before the feature. as josh rolled onto the track with no front bumper and fenders on the car for the feature he said he had always wanted to drive an open wheeled modified. josh was not sure how the car was going to handle, and on the warm up laps josh was surprised how the car handled. josh started 2nd row outside and as the green flag waved the the car was getting hard to turn in the corners, and cars started to go by josh. when the race ended josh finished a respectable 7th place with what the crew had to go through after the heat. kj motorsports fell to 5th in the points.

it's not over

Thanks to Kevin (#54) and everyone that helped getting the #00 kj motorsports car back on the track for the feature!

after the disappointment from opening night, kj motorsports was ready to get back on track again. with a 17 cars field, josh qualified 5th with a 20.398. josh started 2nd row outside. as the race started josh maintained his position of 3rd place and finished in that spot. the crew made some adjustments to the car for the feature. in the feature josh moved into 1st on lap 6 with Eddie Hoffman (#8) right behind in 2nd. they battle back to back and side by side for 12 laps until they started to catch lap traffic. the car was getting loose and josh could not hold his 1st place position, and the #8 and #15 was able to get by josh by lap 20. as the checkered flag waved josh finished 3rd. kj motorsports was happy with the 3rd place finish, and moved from 11th to 4th in the points.
