aug 21 - It was a sunny day that turned into a long day, because Josh and Kerrie had gotten married the night before, then Josh arrived at the track early for practice as the Hooter's Cup race was also being run that day. Josh practiced and the car was off but it was from the two different compounds of tires. Once they put the sticker tires on Josh was up to his normal speed. Josh was 5th out to qualify and ran a 21.000 good for fast time. The team opted to take the challenge and start dead last out of 20 cars for a $1200 bonus. Josh felt comfortable with his point lead so he chose to do it. No heat races were run and the feature was after the 250 lap Hooter's race. Josh started 20th and slowly worked his way into the top 10. After lap 25, Josh was stuck behind 2 cars running side by side. Once he cleared those 2 he picked off a couple more spots and finished with an impressive 5th. after the race Josh said, "I was trying hard to get there but traffic played a role. I was happy with the finish and gained points over second."

aug 14th - A day of opportunities was in store for the team today. Josh was asked by John Nutley to drive his second late model. The team agreed and Josh was going to run the second practice session. Josh took the mid am car out and was turning some fast laps when the car slowed mysteriously off turn 4. Josh thought the transmission had locked up. The team brought the car back into the pits and checked everything over and ran the car through the gears and it seemed to be fine. Josh then went over and hopped in the late model. Josh took the first few laps to get used to the car and ran 5 total laps. On the 3rd lap up to speed Josh turned a 20.36 and brought the car in. Josh went back to the mid am car and scuffed in the qualifying tires and only put new left side tires on the car. Josh ran a few laps and brought the car in. Josh was first out to qualify in the late model and ran a 20.19 good for 8th quick. In the mid am he was last to qualify and ran a 20.879 good for fast time. Josh wants to thank Carl, Butch, Jason, Matt, Mike, Lynn, Kerrie and Jennifer for being able to drive the car. "Every week they give the best possible car ro drive and to race with a great team." One other person he wants to thank is John Zap. "Without his horsepower we wouldn't be where we are." The late model Josh started in the back and finished 8th. In the Mid am heat Josh started last and finished 5th. Josh ran 10 laps in the late model feature and pulled off finishing 17th. Josh started 5th row inside in the mid am feature and worked his way up to 5th on lap 3 and got into the back off the 17 car and spun him. Josh restarted 17th and on lap 10 was working on 5th place when he got spun and hit by a slower car. Josh went to pit road to have the damage fixed. Josh restarted 15th and worked his way up to finish 6th.

CJ MOTORSPORTS PICKS UP THEIR
4TH FEATURE WIN
OF THE YEAR! (7/31/04)
July 31st - Josh was looking to keep building on his point lead. During the week the team changed many parts on the cars that they found to be bad. In practice Josh was satisfied with the car and didn't do any changes. Josh was 3rd to qualify and ran a 20.99 good for second quick. In the heat race Josh just rode around and made a passes and finished 5th. In the feature Josh started 4th row inside and ran side by side for the first 7 laps and and then the field started to pan out and Josh moved up to 4th. A caution came out and Josh took over second a lap later and set his sights on the leader. After the caution Josh came on the radio and said he was losing his brakes. Josh struggled and ran down the leader. A caution came out with 3 to go. On the restart Josh stayed right on the leader and followed. The white flag flew and in the middle of turn one Josh bump the leader and he slid up a groove and Josh went on to win the feature. After the race Josh apologized for bumping Dave Gentile Jr. "Dave has run us clean all year and I didn't mean to do it," Josh said after the race.
