as kj motorsports got their first late model feature win at illiana speedway on Saturday night. josh and the kj motorsports team went to grundy county speedway for the night of features on sunday. josh qualified 8th out of 27 cars that put him 4th row outside for the feature. when the yellow flag waved on lap 3 for a spin in middle of turn 3 and 4 , josh was able to slow down to avoid the cars that were slowing down in front of him. there was a car on the outside of josh that made a quick left into josh while the cars were all slowing down. josh pulled into the pits to fix right font body damage. the crew duct taped the fender and front bumper together and got josh back out before the restart. josh had to restart in the back of the field. as the green flag waved slowly started to move to the front, and by the end of the race josh finished in 4th place.

While the late-model points chase at the ASA-sanctioned Illiana Speedway took some twists and turns Saturday night, Josh Nelms was pointed straight ahead. The former Mid-American champion flexed his muscles against the top division drivers, capturing the 25-lap main event. Nelms took the lead from Andy Marchiniak on lap five, and stayed there the rest of the way. He was never able to pull away from the field, but did maintain a relatively comfortable lead and beat Marchiniak to the finish line by 0.688 seconds. "Andy's a great competitor," Nelms said. "We raced all year together in the U.S. Pro series and we put on some good side-by-side battles. I knew I had to get by him and start to stretch out the lead. I knew the fast guys would be coming."
